The Annual General Meeting

The AGM on 23rd April was well attended and it was a great opportunity to consider the success of The Snow Queen, the activities of the Society over the past 12 months and to make plans for the forthcoming year.

The 2010 / 11 Committee is as follows:

President - Rev Bob Cooper

Chairman - Jeannette Morgan

Vice Chairman -   Mick Wilstrop

Church Representative -  Bob Battye

Secretary -  Joanne Sykes

Treasurer -  Julie Mayhew

Assistant Treasurer -  Ian Gates

Membership Secretary -  Jill Harrison

Ticket Secretary -  Julie Mosley

Publicity Officer -  Jane England

Social Secretary -  Bernie Weston

Child Protection Officer -  Amanda Lovell

Health & Safety Officer -  Andy Weston

Committee Members -  Kebir Berry Mel Millard  Alan Smith

Eric Arundell, Andrew Coppin and Brenda Hall all stepped down from the Committee and each of them were thanked for their many years of service and support.

There were a number of items up for discussion and the following decisions were made:

Society Rules - The AGM accepted the Committee’s proposal to adopt the following Social Media Policy:

“The Management Committee are pleased that people are proud to be members of the Society and encourage any chance to share the enjoyment of members with others.  However images included on Social Media sites or published in any way must appropriately represent the Society and the individuals involved.

Images posted on such sites taken at Society events and productions must include members of the cast fully dressed and in appropriate costumes.  Anyone using photographs/images that include any  members under 16 must  have the  express permission of the child’s parent/guardian.  Parents are also asked to check the sites of their sons and daughters and discuss with them the appropriateness of any images included that may upset/embarrass their friends.

Anyone posting images of members of the cast not fully dressed or where the costumes have been dramatically altered will be denied future membership of the Society.”

Presentation of NODA Awards - It was proposed by a Society member that we should revert to presenting NODA Awards on stage at the end of the Saturday evening performance as it would give friends and family the opportunity to see the presentations being made.  This was       accepted by the AGM, however it is to be noted that there was no desire to return to speeches being given.

After Show Party - The AGM accepted the proposal that the after show party should be open to family and friends who attend the Saturday evening performance, however details of non-members attending must be provided to the Social Secretary in advance.

It was also acknowledged that anyone whose children behave unreasonably, including accessing areas that will be identified as out of bounds, would be asked to leave the party immediately.

Children & Junior Gifts - It was agreed that the Society gifts for the Children and Junior Dancers will be presented in the main hall immediately after the Matinee tea.

Buttonholes - A question was posed as to why buttonholes were provided for everyone when the decision at last years AGM was that they should be for cast only.  The Producer explained that the order had been placed at her request.

A new proposal was therefore accepted by the AGM that buttonholes are provided as a thank you to those who have helped during the week of the show as well as the cast.
